At a banquet, Inspector Zhang forcibly betrothed Yulan to Wu Song despite his refusals, later framing Wu Song and having him imprisoned on death row. Shi En, alarmed, discovered Jiang Menshen was still in Mengzhou and had conspired with Zhang Dujian to trap Wu Song. He enlisted Kang Jieji and Ye Kongmu to aid in Wu Song’s case. Yulan tried to help but was imprisoned. Bribes and interventions led to Wu Song’s sentence being reduced to hard labor in Enzhou. During his journey, Wu Song killed two assassins sent by Jiang Menshen and Inspector Zhang, who, meanwhile, celebrated at the Mandarin Duck Pavilion, expecting Wu Song’s death.
