Shot Dead in a Club

Pramod Nagpal is shot dead in a club. As two shots are fired, ACP Arjun suspects victim's friend Ashish was the target. But it is soon discovered that Ashish hired a contract killer to get himself killed. Then, why was Pramod Nagpal killed?
