Christmas is just around the corner, and Monica, intent on instilling the holiday spirit in her son, entrusts her brother-in-law with preparing the Christmas dinner at their house. The family is all busy with New Year's Eve, but Cristina has no desire to celebrate. Laura suggests Paolo invite Valeria and Gianluca to the party Clelia is throwing. Mario, overcome with jealousy, demands an explanation from his wife about her relationship with the man he doesn't know, and she confesses that it's a past romance.
