NING and his troops are all standing by along the major passages leading to the Palace while PO is denouncing the Empress Dowager in front of various ministers. CHUEN claims that he is the only official heir to the throne. CHAI brings Lady CHAN and the Empress Dowager to the Hall of Supreme Harmony as instructed. The Empress Dowager is shocked to learn that CHUEN has made such an obvious attempt to overthrow the government, and that CHAI has already betrayed her. She orders the Imperial Guards to arrest CHUEN, but all of them are busy fighting with the assassinators, who are actually the dismissed TAK and his subordinates.
