Interface
Henryk wanders a desolate landscape and encounters Mischief for the first time. Mischief introduces himself as a companion and begins a cryptic dialogue about "our ship" and the nature of their reality.
Montreal
The duo travels to a quiet, unsettling version of Montreal. The episode highlights the "lo-fi" aesthetic of the city and further develops the eerie, silent atmosphere that defines the series' early chapters.
Greetings Robotics
This episode introduces the corporate side of the apocalypse, focusing on Mr. Greetings and the creation of KAMI. It establishes that "Cerebral Electricity" is being harvested and weaponized by humanity.
The Ghost
A mysterious, skeletal entity known as The Ghost is introduced. It is revealed to be a protective force, watching over a young girl (Henryk's descendant) and serving as a spectral counterpart to the living characters.
The Son of Man
Borrowing imagery from René Magritte, this episode delves into Henryk's past and his connection to the Philadelphia Experiment. It uses surreal visual metaphors to explain how his identity was fractured in 1943.
Bear Witness
KAMI’s role as a "man-made god" becomes clearer as it actively hunts and absorbs spiritual entities. The episode emphasizes the growing threat Greetings Robotics poses to the natural (and supernatural) world.
Mechanical Saccorhytus
A massive, baby-faced airship is revealed as the mobile headquarters for Greetings Robotics. The episode explores the disturbing biological-mechanical hybrid technology used to store harvested spirits.
The Watchful Eyes
The narrative shifts to the surveillance state established by Mr. Greetings. It shows how the Interface allows for a totalizing view of all timelines, making it impossible for the spirits to truly hide.
Camouflage
Mischief demonstrates his shapeshifting abilities in more detail, transforming to help Henryk avoid detection. The episode questions whether Mischief is a true friend or merely using Henryk for his own agenda.
An Illusion of Time
The series tackles the non-linear nature of the Interface, showing scenes from the past and future overlapping. Henryk begins to realize that his search for his great-granddaughter is tied to these "glitches" in time.
Revelation
Key plot points converge as Henryk finally understands the scale of the "Interface" experiment. The true nature of the barrier between the tangible world and the spirit world is explained through a haunting monologue.
Metallic Evolution
The finale of Part I shows the "birth" of a more advanced form of KAMI and the airship's transition into a more aggressive state. It ends on a cliffhanger that sets the stage for the journey into "Dreamland."
