The fifth season of the series, titled What's up Japan, aired from September 30 to November 4, 2024 on Prva programa.[11][12][13] In six episodes, Milić takes viewers through everyday life in Tokyo, but also visits Yokohama, Osaka, Kyoto, Hiroshima, and smaller tourist destinations along the Pacific coast. The series explores topics such as religion (Shintoism, Buddhism), traditional rituals (ikebana, cherry blossom culture), the life of geishas, the life of sumo wrestlers, extreme kindness and politeness, gastronomy (top-notch sushi and street food), social structures (the relationship between politics and inheritance in parliament, the situation of the homeless, the decline in the value of the yen), and the everyday life of the elderly population. The show features a variety of interlocutors, from intellectuals, ministers, artists, doctors, human rights activists, homeless people, to atomic bomb survivors.
