Mike Leigh

The first programme in an occasional series that allows viewers to eavesdrop on head-to-head discussions between two prominent figures in the world of the arts. Tonight, provocative journalist and novelist Will Self talks to director and film maker Mike Leigh. Self has written several novels and short stories, including Great Apes and The Quantum Theory of Insanity, while Leigh worked in TV to great acclaim before enjoying big-screen success with films such as Naked, Palme d'Or winner Secrets and Lies and the more recent Topsy-Turvy.
