Hanaa and Sherine part 2

Hanaa and Sherine continue their conversation with Aliya and Nabawiya, discussing various topics. Scene at Um Sameh’s house at 4 PM. Umm Sameh: Hadiya, don’t eat too much duck; you don’t want to harm the baby. Duck is full of fat and calories. Hadiya: Loudak, loudak. Um Sameh: What does ‘loudak’ mean? Hashad: Hadiya has been silent for 6 years and only says ‘loudak.’ Um Sameh: There is no power or strength except with God. Hadiya is crying. Um Sameh: I’m sorry, Hadiya; I apologize, it’s my fault. Um Sameh: Why is your wife crying, Mr. Hashad? Hashad: Because when she heard the word ‘harm the baby,’ it means you aren’t letting her eat properly. Three days later, Hanaa and Sherine left at the same time as Hadiya and Hashad returned from the countryside.
