Along the Laotian banks of the mighty Mekong are pockets of underprivileged, isolated and mosquito-infested villages. The people here live a subsistence lifestyle and apart from the river, have no access to the outside world. There are no roads, no cars, no phones, no internet and no distributed electricity.
