In Japan, the sounds of nature—the pitter-patter of rain, the trickling of a stream, blowing wind, chirping birds—are often associated with the changing seasons. Japanese in past ages would listen to these subtle sounds as they observed their surroundings with great sensitivity—they created a distinctly Japanese world of sound. Join us as we explore the history and tradition that gave birth to modern Japanese sound design.
