GPIB Data Logging Like It's 1982
Let's take a look at how you would use GPIB/HPIB/IEEE-488 for data logging in the 80's. No excuse is too small for me to bring out my HP-86A and play with it. This was a really fun exercise in how technology changes in someways, but not others. HPIB was created in the 1960's and you can still buy equipment with that port on it. It doesn't need complex handshaking like TCP/IP, it is more flexible than USB, and it is more reliable than bluetooth.
