The emergency unit is full with some of the 5,000 children they see each year. Among their ailments ranges everything from broken bones and bumps to items up noses. On the ward, a three-year-old child has an infection that could risk her eyesight, and hard decisions await on how to treat a girl with suspected appendicitis.
