When her husband dies, Dora Rosário, a woman trapped in the dark years of the Estado Novo, starts to live only for her daughter Lisa and for the memory of the deceased that accompanies her every day. However, when she discovers that her husband was not who she thought he was, Dora questions her whole past and ventures out in search of a new life. But she soon discovers that mourning won't be as easy as she wants to believe.
