Manchester City entertained bogey team Sunderland, a side they have beaten only four times in their last 11 league encounters. Stoke took on Manchester United at the Britannia Stadium looking to maintain an unbeaten home record against the Red Devils since ex-United player Mark Hughes became the Potters' manager. Elsewhere, Arsenal travelled to Southampton, Liverpool took on Leicester, Tottenham were up against Norwich, West Ham visited Aston Villa, Newcastle played Everton, Bournemouth hosted Crystal Palace and Swansea were in action against West Brom.
