The staff at Yan Oi Hospital take a different view on lives as well as personal values after the SARS outbreak. CHING CHI MEI PAUL is performing a brain operation on a patient who is suffering from Parkinson’s disease. As the operation is conducted when the patient is conscious, TSANG SUK KEI BETSY, an O & G (Obstetrics & Gynecology) intern, is present so as to learn from PAUL. Her superior, MAN ON SAN ANSON, is unhappy for her absence from her post without official. A & E (Accident & Emergency) consultant, LAI KWOK CHU HENRY, invites PAUL to her girlfriend, JAN’s, birthday party. HENRY knows then that PAUL is still in contact with his ex-girlfriend, HO SUM YIN. PAUL suspects that a female patient has contracted SARS.
