Manu tells Raghunath that she won't wed Gangadhar as he insulted the Peshwa. But the Peshwa convinces her to. He tells her that he will first send Tatya Tope to Jhansi to examine its state. Lachchu, Sakhu and Janki plot with Moti not to let Gangadhar marry Manu. The 'vaidya' diagnoses Gangadhar with black fever. Vaidya says anyone, who applies the ointment, will get the fever.
