Moropant reminds a grief-stricken Gangadhar about his duty as a husband and as a king. Laxmi Bai and Gangadhar recall Damodar's short life. Vahini Saheb asks Gangadhar to have patience. Damodar is given his last bath. Gangadhar takes Damodar's foot and hand prints and takes him to perform the last rites. Laxmi Bai breaks down, and Nelson rejoices at his victory.
