Faking Hitler
No season overview available.

Reporter Gerd Heidemann needs a real scoop, as he hasn't had a big story in a while. Konrad Kujau, not making enough selling fake memorabilia to old Nazis, desperately needs money and has the idea of forging Hitler’s diaries.

Kujau finally agrees to do business with Heidemann, and all it’s left is for Stern to approve payments. Hans admits his Nazi past, and Elisabeth helps him by destroying his file - unaware that she is photographed while doing it.

Kujau forges some letters to provide Heidemann with documents to verify the diaries. Leo Gold threatens Elisabeth to reveal her father’s guilty past, if she won’t provide him with information about the diaries.

Wishing to sell the international rights of the diaries, Stern approaches an American media mogul, who however has an agenda. Elisabeth, while trying to find out if Kujau is a fake, learns something upsetting about her father.

Elisabeth tells the editors of Stern that she believes the diaries are fake, so Bloom has no choice but to fire her. Kujau panics with the impending publication of the diaries, so he forces Heidemann to keep his identity a secret.

Following the publication of the diaries, Stern continues to assert that they are real, but what will the examination prove? Moreover, will Elisabeth be able to win back her place in Stern?
