Avatars of Vishnu

The concept of avatar in Hindu mythology refers to the descent of a deity or a supreme being to Earth. This idea is most often associated with Vishnu. It is said that Vishnu incarnates on Earth from time to time to eradicate evil forces and to restore Dharma on Earth.
