Later, at the pharmacy soda fountain, Norman greets Steven. Steven reveals that Theodore Dowell is assuming Martin Peyton's legal affairs from Wainwright. They discuss the past, and Steven assures Norman that Martin shares Norman's conviction that Catherine did not murder Elizabeth Carson. Betty and Rodney are both affected by the arrival of the Sinclair baby, lamenting everything that they could have had if things had been different.
