In October 2006, pregnant mother and schoolteacher Manjit Panghali left a yoga class in Surrey, BC, and was never seen again. Her family said her disappearance was out of character because the loving mother would never leave her young daughter. Days after she disappeared, burned remains were discovered along a container terminal causeway.
