Sarah Rose

Sarah’s personal journey is one of profound transformation and resilience. Growing up in Georgia, she was deeply involved in the local music scene before facing a period of intense personal struggle, including a suicide attempt and a temporary move to D.C. after her previous band, Go Robo Go, disbanded. As a trans woman and non-binary artist, her life changed when she returned to Atlanta to live authentically. This rebirth of her identity led her to found Sarah and the Safe Word in 2015, using the band as a vehicle to tell dark, cinematic stories of queer joy and survival.
