Fortis Simons

Fortis Simons is a bilingual (English/French) filmmaker (writer/director/ editor) and keen poet from Brent, London. His first narrative short (written- directed and edited) ‘Love of Words Words of Love’ screened at multiple BAFTA, BIFA qualifying festivals including Aesthetica Film Festival. It was nominated for a Royal Television Society award, ‘Best Scripted’ and now Streaming on Minute Shorts. As a filmmaker and poet, Fortis wants to know what makes us unique, by examining experiences and stories of human connection, human vulnerabilities and artistic communication through the delicate relationship between visual storytelling and poetry. In the directing realm, he has just released his latest piece of work ‘Where Does Time Go To Have Fun’ (writer/director/editor), a commercial where tennis, time and poetry meet, which has led him to be a finalist winner at the Creative Circle x Saatchi Saatchi New Talent Awards 2023 for 'Most Promising Creative in a discipline not listed or specified in other Talent categories’
