Ali Al Faramawi

Ali Al Faramawi is an Egyptian-born, Toronto-based cinematographer, editor, and colorist whose work blends cinematic storytelling with emotional authenticity. What began as filming and editing small projects for friends and family quickly grew into a serious creative pursuit. Over the past few years, he has edited several films, worked as a cinematographer across various genres and styles, and recently developed his color-grading skills to take on the full post-production process. His films have screened at festivals and earned several awards In 2025, his short documentary Through My Eyes: Malaysia screened at the TIFF Lightbox during Toronto Film School's Film Festival, and was nominated Best Documentary. It went on to win Best Documentary Short and Best Trailer at the New Jersey Film Awards in June 2025. With a growing body of work, Ali continues to push the boundaries of visual storytelling, creating films that leave a lasting impact not only for how they look, but for how they make you feel.
