Liz Capote is Cuban an artist whose practice spans painting, drawing, and animation; her work explores the female experience in a society shaped by political and moral violence. Among the most notable exhibitions in which she has participated are Estatuas de sal at Bellas Hartas (2025, Mexico City); Occisa at Wishbone Art Gallery (2025, Montreal); What Lies Beneath at Zilberman Gallery (2025, Miami); Construir, habitar, crear at the Colegio de San Ildefonso (2024, Mexico City); Renacer de la Tierra at Casa Wabi Sabino (2023, Mexico City); Azur at Wishbone Art Gallery (2023, Montreal); Bonito y sabroso at Galería Nina Menocal (2022, Mexico City); and Palíndromo at the Fábrica de Arte Cubano (2019, Havana). In recent years, Capote has shown her work at art fairs such as Art Toronto (2024, Canada) and Zona Maco (2022, Mexico City) with Galería La Sindical. She has also participated in artist residencies, including Soma Summer (2022, Tlaxco) and Casa Wabi (2022, Oaxaca). Liz Capote currently lives and works between Mexico City and Cancún.
