Tony Altomare

Also known as Tony Altomare, The Stamford Stomper

Anthony C. Altomare was an American professional wrestler, trainer, and executive. Born in Stamford, Connecticut, he worked as a chief lifeguard before debuting in wrestling in 1960. He formed the tag team “The Sicilians” with Lou Albano, winning several championships in the 1960s. After Albano retired, Altomare continued as a singles wrestler and later worked as a referee and mentor, serving as an early coach to Hulk Hogan. He was later responsible for merchandising in the WWF and founded a wrestling school called “The Factory,” where he trained several notable wrestlers. He passed away in 2003 due to heart failure.
