JAY (born Vijayanathan Dhaharasen on 29th May 1976) is a Malaysian Indian composer, vocalist, vocal tutor, and social activist. He hails from Penang, Malaysia but is currently residing in Kuala Lumpur. He debuted as Music Director in the movie "Aandal" under the direction of Sandosh Kesavan in 2005. The song 'Uyirai Tholaithen' from the Malaysian Indian telemovie "Kadhal Veendum"; which was released in 2007; was a huge commercial success and gave Jay his initial breakthrough. Thus far, Jay has composed more than 250 songs over the years, produced hundreds of scores for advertisements, jingles, and commercials in his 15+ years of experience. Jay is also the founder and CEO of his own production label named 'Orange Box Studio' which is operating in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Through his company Orange Box Studio, Jay Launched the 'Voice Bank' program; a program which transforms new talents into professional contemporary singers. With the 'Voice Bank' program receiving immense recognitions, Jay found himself opportunities to conduct the program for kids and adults all over Malaysia, both online and physically. This program is currently being run online under the name 'JOM', Jay's Online Music.
