Scott Curtis

Scott Curtis is a former FBI Special Agent and United States Military Academy at West Point West Point graduate best known for having spearheaded the largest single-day takedown of organized-crime members in U.S. history, 127 arrests on January 20, 2011. Also a writer and a frequent analyst on crime, national security, and political corruption for CNN, Today Australia, NewsNation, and WFMZ-TV since 2022, he is featured on FBI Retired Case File Review (2019) and is routinely quoted as an expert on organized crime and government corruption in such venues as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Post, and The Intercept. From 1997 to 2013 he was assigned to the FBI's Colombo Crime Family Unit, quarterbacking investigations that disrupted several criminal enterprises in and around New York City leading to the conviction of hundreds of criminals. He personally located and dug up the body of Colombo underboss Billy Cutolo, missing for more than 9 years. A weaponry and tactical specialist as a former infantry captain, platoon leader, and Company Commander, he is also an acknowledged expert on the use of confidential informants, flipping violent criminals into cooperators, and witness protection. The New York Daily News called Curtis "a hard-charging FBI agent" who "left the crime family in ruins after more than a decade of mob-busting."
