Ahmad Baqer, born on January 1, 1929, in Sharq, Kuwait, left school for his passion for art. He started his career at an oil company and later composed the hit song "Li Khalil Hussein" in 1960. Known as the "Senbati of the Gulf" after studying in Cairo, he co-wrote "Ya Saher Al-Layl" and helped found the Higher Institute of Musical Arts in Kuwait in 1976. He passed away on November 11, 2011, after a battle with illness and was honored by the Kuwaiti Ministry of Information.
