Marei Al Halian

An Emirati actor, author and director, born on February 18, 1965, in Sharjah. He is one of the most prominent and active theater pioneers in the UAE. His artistic career began in theatre through the play Jamila (1988), followed by A Grain of Sand (1991). During his busy career, he moved between theater, television and cinema. His work in TV drama includes: Marmar of My Time (1996). In 2014, he participated in two Emirati cinema works: Dolphins, and Sunflowers, and he got titled as Theatre Ambassador. He also wrote and directed the play the Unknown Treasure, which is based on the texts of the German writer Berthold Brecht, and for which, he won the Best Theatrical Composition Award. Adding to that, he was honored by the 23rd Sharjah Theatrical Days Tournament, at the Sharjah Cultural Palace.
