Autumn Snyder

Autumn Snyder (November 27, 1996 - March 12, 2017) was the adopted daughter of writer and filmmaker Zack Snyder. Autumn passed away on March 12, 2017, by suicide. This caused Snyder to step away from directing the 2017 live-action Justice League film set in the DCEU (DC Extended Universe). Director Joss Whedon, who had previously directed Marvel's 2012 film The Avengers, set in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), took over for Snyder to finish the film. The film was poorly received by fans, and caused a campaign to release Snyder's cut of the film. The campaign also raised over $500k for the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. In 2021, following a $70 million investment from Warner Bros., Snyder's cut of the film was released directly onto HBO Max. At the end of the film, it features a tribute to Autumn, dedicating the film to her memory.
