Claudio Isaac

Claudio Isaac (15 April 1957 – 27 November 2024) was a Mexican film director and screenwriter. He entered filmmaking as a child actor in Tiempo de morir and later worked in production at the Secretariat of Public Education’s film department, before assisting Arturo Ripstein on Foxtrot. He wrote and directed the autobiographical debut feature Crónica íntima, then concentrated on documentary and cultural television, including films on poets Jaime Sabines, Guadalupe Amor, and Octavio Paz. He wrote the first episode and directed episodes of the anthology series Hora Marcada, returned to fiction with El día que murió Pedro Infante, and later directed Sin Dios y sin Diablo, Jaime Sabines y sus lectores, alongside long-running documentary series such as Palabra empeñada and Santo y seña.
