Sean Webley

Sean Webley is a cinematographer and visual artist whose work spans documentary film, fine art, and publishing. His features Seconds Away (2024) and The Voyage Out (2024) premiered at the Austin Film Festival and DOC NYC, respectively. The Voyage Out was shot entirely on Super 16mm film. His short film Beef (2022) was shortlisted for Cannes Quinzaine des Réalisateurs and won the Experimental Spirit Award at Brooklyn Film Festival and Best Experimental Film at Nashville Film Festival. Seconds Away received the Juror's Award for Sports on Screen at Centre Film Festival. His film, Before the Sun Explodes, premiered at SXSW. He has sold original screenplays and received multiple awards from the PAGE International Screenwriting Awards and the Austin Film Festival. Beyond cinema, Webley's visual art has been exhibited at the Guggenheim Bilbao and acquired by the Paris Review. He has written graphic novels, children's books, and novels, and publishes essays about visual art on Substack.
