With a mother from the Faroe Islands and an Iranian father, Gaïni's diverse heritage has profoundly influenced her artistic expression. She pursued her education at a film school in Denmark and later the Academy of Live and Recorded Arts in London, alongside studying philosophy at the University of Copenhagen. Gaïni has published four poetry collections in Faroese, with her work "2002 nætur" ("2002 Nights") winning the Faroese Literature Prize in Fiction in 2004. Her poems have also been included in Faroese language textbooks, showcasing her impact on language education. In 2011, she received funding from the Faroese government’s Mentanargrunnurin to support her artistic endeavors. Currently, Gaïni continues her work as a teacher in Tórshavn while actively contributing to the cultural landscape of the Faroe Islands through her poetry and teaching.
