In 2024 alone, over 47,000 undergraduates at the University of Maryland admitted to using ChatGPT or similar programs to cheat. To combat this, the University of Maryland has assembled a crack team of elite student agents with special authority to apprehend any students suspected of using AI: the University of Maryland GPT Police Department.
